Watch on your TV with AirPlay, Chromecast or DLNA
Start a channel or movie on your phone and send it to the TV. Which method you use depends on your phone and your TV.
Which one to use
| iPhone and iPad | AirPlay to Apple TV and AirPlay TVs, Chromecast to Chromecast devices |
|---|---|
| Android phones and tablets | Chromecast to Chromecast devices, DLNA to smart TVs on the same network |
| Apple TV | Install AREZTV on Apple TV and pair it with your phone instead of casting |
Cast from the player
Connect to the same Wi-Fi
Your phone and the TV or Chromecast must be on the same network.
Start playback
Open a channel, movie or episode in AREZTV.
Tap the cast button
Tap the cast or AirPlay button in the player and pick your TV.
DLNA on Android
AREZTV searches for DLNA devices on your network. If your TV is not found, check that DLNA or UPnP is turned on in the TV's settings, or tap Add Manually and enter the TV's IP address, such as 192.168.1.100.
When casting is not the best choice
Some stream formats may not work with Chromecast, and AREZTV warns you when that happens. On Apple TV you get the best result by running AREZTV on the TV itself and using your phone as the remote.
AREZTV is a media player only. It does not include any channels or content. You need the playlist or login details from your own IPTV provider.
Questions
Why does Chromecast not play some channels?
Chromecast supports a limited set of stream formats. When a format may not work, AREZTV shows a warning. Try AirPlay, DLNA or AREZTV on Apple TV instead.
Can I use my phone while casting?
Yes. The video plays on the TV, and you can keep using your phone.
